DR. CHARLES L. MCCALL JOINS VISTA RADIOLOGY. Knoxville, Tenn. — Jackson resident, Charles Louis McCall, Jr., M.D., is joining the staff at Vista Radiology, P.C.

Board certified by the American College of Radiology, Dr. McCall completed his surgery internship and radiology residency at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, LA where he also received his medical degree. Dr. McCall is currently certified in mammography and is in the process of certifying in digital mammography. He will be working primarily from his home in Jackson, Tenn.

Dr. McCall previously worked with Advanced Radiology Associates in Jackson, Tenn., and at The Jackson Clinic where he designed and directed a cross sectional imaging center.

For 12 years, Dr. McCall was chair of Quality Assurance and Outcomes Improvement for Radiology for Jackson General Hospital.

DR. PHILIP L. MANZANERO JOINS VISTA RADIOLOGY FROM HAWAII. Knoxville, Tenn. — Philip L. Manzanero, M.D., will be the second physician from Hawaii to join Vista Radiology, P.C., working remotely from his Oahu office while improving Vista’s turnaround time, efficiency and patient service.

Although Dr. Manzanero will be a member of Vista Radiology in Tennessee, he will continue to live and work on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Internet-based technology allows Manzanero to read radiology films after Vista’s East Tennessee-based physicians go home in the evenings. The six-hour time difference between Tennessee and Hawaii makes this method of reading MRIs, CTs and ultrasounds more efficient, thus decreasing turn-around time and on-call coverage costs.

Manzanero was previously vice-chairman of radiology at Hilo Medical Center in Hilo, Hawaii, where he worked with Vista’s George Ainge, M.D. With the additions of Manzanero and Dr. Charles McCall, Vista will provide coverage seven nights a week from Hawaii and Jackson, Tennessee.

Manzanero has worked as a radiologist with Hawaii Radiologic Associates in Hilo, Hawaii, and with the Radiology Associates in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was also a staff radiologist at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass. He served as staff radiologist and an instructor at Harvard Medical School.

He is board certified in both diagnostic radiology (by the American Board of Radiology) and nuclear medicine (by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine).

Manzanero received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in Buffalo, N. Y. He completed his radiology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Manzanero completed his fellowship in nuclear medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass.
