Staff Accountant with Benefit Administration Responsibilities

Integrated Practice Services, LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant. If you desire an active, collaborative environment, this position offers an engaging team approach. Our team provides accounting and benefit administration for East Tennessee’s largest radiology practice and related entities. The responsibilities of this position provide a variety of tasks that create opportunities to learn and be impactful in the organization.
This position will be responsible for management of accounts payable, assistance with payrolls, preparation of journal entries, month-end activities, and benefit administration. Our office is located in Knoxville, Tennessee with no travel outside the city. Our team is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and organized individual. The ideal candidate will be able to coordinate responsibilities for multiple entities and have excellent communication skills with co-workers, physicians, and vendors. This position is an important part of a three-person team, including the CFO.

Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Gather and maintain proper vendor information including, contracts, addresses and W-9s
  • Prepare, reconcile, post and document expense reimbursements and accounts payable
  • Prepare and transmit contract invoices
  • Prepare bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Perform month-end close activities
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Prepare monthly Sales & Use Tax reports
  • Maintain intercompany reconciliations
  • Design and perform special projects

Payroll and Benefit Administration Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding
  • Prepare bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls
  • Maintain employment files for compliance
  • Assist with administration of health and benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Assist in additional payroll and benefit administration projects


  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Systems, or 3+ year’s experience in accounting or bookkeeping
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Reliability in job attendance and punctuality
  • Strong organization and decision-making skills
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Adept at using accounting software and payroll platforms
  • Knowledge and experience in benefit administration is desired
