Dr. Downey earned his Doctor of Osteopathic from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1977 followed by an internship in Rotating-Basic Medicine in 1978 from the Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. In 1982, he completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology from the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD as well as a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology in 1983. Dr. Downey is a teleradiologist working from College Grove, Tennessee.
Thru his tenure, he has held memberships with national societies such the American Osteopathic College of Radiology, American College of Radiology, Missouri Radiological Society, and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
Dr. Downey was board-certified in 1982 and joined the Vista Radiology team in 2018.
