Joanna Krause, MD

Dr. Joanna Krause earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Uniformed Services University of  the Health Sciences and completed her Diagnostic Radiology residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of North Georgia.

Dr. Krause has extensive experience in both military and civilian healthcare settings. She has held numerous leadership positions throughout her career, including Chief of Diagnostic Radiology, Deputy Chief of Radiology, and most recently Medical Director of MRI Imaging at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Her practice is centered on delivering high-quality, patient-focused diagnostic imaging across a broad range of clinical environments.

She is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and additionally holds board certification in Magnetic Resonance Safety. Dr. Krause was recognized as “2022 Senior Navy Radiologist of the Year” and previously served as Navy Councilor to the American College of Radiology.

Following her retirement from the U.S. Navy in 2025, Dr. Krause joined Vista Radiology, where she continues her commitment to excellence in diagnostic imaging and patient care.
